Healthcare

Michaels Opinion Research has extensive experience conducting health-related research for corporations, non-profits and government institutions. We have been a key player in several high profile projects bringing together the private and public sectors to address important public health issues.

For the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and in collaboration with the Academy for Education Development, we managed and guided an extensive research program to test and refine the CDC’s 2009-10 messaging and public information materials about the H1N1 vaccine, including the Vaccine Information Sheet that has been distributed to about 70 million Americans who received the H1N1 vaccine.

Our published research for such organizations as the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation, GlaxoSmithKline, Harvard AIDS Institute and the Center for AIDS Prevention Studies (UCSF) has received broad national media coverage and has been widely distributed to public health agencies nationally.

Our research on HIV testing among adolescents was accepted for presentation at the XIV International AIDS Conference in Barcelona.

Research we have conducted for the Kaiser Family Foundation influenced the development of sexual health PSAs broadcast on MTV, BET, UPN and published in the seventeen magazine TeenSmarts series.

Research subjects have included patients with terminal diseases, sexually-active youth, women in menopause, HIV positive men and women, populations at high-risk for STDs, physicians, nurses, clinic administrators, hospital staff and foundation donors, among others.
