Michaels Opinion Research, Inc., has
extensive experience conducting health-related
research for corporations, non-profits and
government institutions. We have been a
key player in several high profile projects
bringing together the private and public sectors
to address important public health issues.
Our published research for such
organizations as The Henry J. Kaiser Family
Foundation, GlaxoSmithKline, Harvard AIDS
Institute and the Center for AIDS Prevention
Studies (UCSF) has received broad national media
coverage and has been widely distributed to
public health agencies nationwide.
Our research
on HIV testing among adolescents was accepted
for presentation at the XIV International AIDS
Conference in Barcelona.
Research we have conducted for the Kaiser
Family Foundation influenced the development of
sexual health PSAs broadcast on MTV, BET, UPN
and published in the seventeen magazine
TeenSmarts series.
Research subjects have included patients
with terminal diseases, sexually-active youth,
women in menopause, HIV positive men and women,
populations at high-risk for STDs, physicians,
nurses, clinic administrators, hospital staff
and foundation donors, among others.
For the newly-formed Coalition for Pulmonary
Fibrosis, we developed a sophisticated
research program―online and by mail―to
understand patients' family histories,
diagnostic and treatment experiences. The
success of the initial year endeavor prompted
donor support for an extension of the project.
